    I cannot understand this system,,,,
If someone is successful in Sport or Show Biz and have made Millions of pounds, why do they need an Honour.?
    That should be reward enough.
The Honours should be for people who do good for No Reward. or sacrifice or Saving lives etc..
    Brian.

#39, No offence taken cappy, his rank in the world speaks volumes dour or not....though have noted he is smiling more perhaps due to his English born wife and English born baby daughter and a knighthood from his British Queen.

As for his mum, she has lead both her sons on the right path in life which I find commendable, outwith a great deal of tennis commitments with youngsters in Scotland which you have probably never heard of down south.....and she is a smiler!

I blame my school Teachers for my failure to get a Knighthood,

These people play a round of tennis and get one.
My Teachers at school always told me Not play around and so I didn't and I didn't get one.
    Brian.

#43, Brian, if you were to forgo your next world cruise and instead donate the money to the Tory party, you would be in
like Flynn and this time next year you would be Sir Kong, sounds good don't it . cheers JC

I'd rather have the cruise, couldn't afford to be a 'Sir'

#36 Thanks for that Marian didn't know what people were tarkin aboot. Clarifys it. I said a long time ago no one should ever talk to the media unless they were aware of the lot of garbage and replacing of words to make the story appear different would happen. They do this with any article they get their hands on and contaminate the truth. I believe very little in any story these word warriors come out with. Most of them aren't too bright in any case. Especially when they get the title of expert in current affairs, and probably think they are being sent out to buy buns for their Editors, which is about the amount of worth they are. However they must have given up as see Al Jazeera News is accepting news by twitter by all and sundry, which must include all the rebel Rousers and such like, and any film of war torn scenes. Either are short of reporters and looking for more, or have given up in that sphere as are failing to brainwash the public. Happy New Year and hope you woke up this morning compus mentis and not like me JS

#34.... Chris know that, was a member of two if remember right the MIN (member of the Institute of Navigation) and the MNI ( member of the Nautical Institute) the only barrier to which was qualification and money. They shortly after joining dropped the qualification requirement but not the fees, so soon after left, plus the fact they also would not print the truth of a story I gave them as said they might be sued. Anyone with those letters after their name, I wouldn't be in a rush to pat on the back. As have no need to be lectured to, today by whom I believe are unqualified persons. A bit like the Awards system being discussed but with the added fees to pay annually. Would rather give the fee to some maritime charity. Regards JS
