The problem is we hav ea thing called compulsory voting, if you are registered, and you must once you turn 18, you must vote. As a result the gov we have, who have done very well getting us out of the crap leftby the last lot, will get the boot and once more we wiull have the ALP and their union mates runninmg the state. Once more the lunatics will be in charge of the asylum.

Re: Down Memory Lane
Here's a thought.
All politician's, be they local, state or national elections and regardless of country, will, when canvassing for your vote will promise you that they are true and honest men/women who will fight for not only their parties cause but also most importantly for YOU. We all trot out and put our X against whichever of the true and honest politician we wish to elect knowing full well that the minute they are elected these true and honest men/women will immediately turn into the biggest thieving lying berstards you could encounter who are there only to serve themselves with snouts in the trough of expenses, payments for asking questions etc.
So knowing this what would happen if everyone refused to vote or destroyed their ballot paper? Does this mean that no government, either local or national, could be formed? Would we then have to back to being ruled by the monarchy or what?
Just a thought after reading and watching tosspot Mellor grovel and try to explain his most stupid rant to a taxi driver.
Like most politicians he, I think, comes from a banking or financial services background and we all know what a bunch of *ankers they are driving the worlds economy into recession with their greed and malpractices.

Re: Down Memory Lane
As I do not have any Democratic representation in the country that I have served, lived in, paid taxes in, still paying Taxes in, raised a family in, I have begun to hate all politicians.
.My MP for my area is a Labour Pa kist an, born person. The Town Councillors for my area are Labour Pa kist an, born persons.
I feel that I am being ruled by a foreign power. I have no one to turn to.
This situation was caused by Politicians, they have taken my country away from me. but they still take Taxes off me to pay for their lavish life style while we struggle to live a decent life.
.
Now if I do not pay my Council Tax, I am taken to Court, my name and address is published in the local paper.
It was announced that Two of my Town Councillors have not paid any Council Tax, But their names and address will not be published because it will infringe their human rights.
.
When the election comes next May, I will have no one to vote for, so there goes my Rights as a citizen to elect a Government of my choice.
That is Democracy, the same Democracy our present and past Governments have been bombing other countries for .
I despair once more

Re: Down Memory Lane
I've got no sound card in the computer, so no good chasing these. But good memories though. Remember The Navy Lark? (Left hand down a bit). And the PC mob would have a ball with Beggar Thy Neighbour, and good old Alf Garnet!
