Glenn, you're very good at ranting on about climate change and trying to make us feel guilty about our grandchildren, but we have yet to hear from you about any clear and understandable specific action that you expect us and all the human race to take. The only specific you have come up with so far is your assertion that there is no god; in this it would seem that you have a hobby horse, perhaps it's time to take it back into the stable, or alternatively lead us all into the field of enlightenment so that we can all enjoy the fruits of your own perceived wisdom.

My answer to the tax on cigarettes I stopped smoking as couldn't afford. Plenty of groans about the petrol tax. Have you ever asked yourself the difference in price of crude oil. The middle East just has to dig a hole in the sand and its there. It costs millions to recover from sea bed wells. Yet the price is still the same whether N.Sea oil or middle east. The oil cartels is the biggest con ever on the general public. As regards honest politicians you mention Churchill who is revered by a certain section of the community the same as Maggie Thatcher. If you were brought up in a working class background I can assure you that most forces personnel would not vote for him as he was considered a war monger and was put out after the war. He was a man for his times only. I still maintain there are no honest politicians, do you honestly think Churchill never told a lie. Climate change will be a big subject on the World Agenda as Summers get hotter and Winters get colder. Bless you

Although I'm not in total agreement with Glenn's view, I do sympathise with much of what he has said. It is a subject wise men tend to avoid, however, it seems this interesting debate has expanded to question the concept of an all-powerful entity who manipulates the behaviour of mankind. Whilst I shall always respect the right of each person to worship whom they please, I personally find it impossible to accept that the misfortune and woe that has befallen man throughout history is part of the master plan of a loving and caring God. There are those who draw comfort in the belief that God doth work in many strange and wondrous ways, but I very much doubt, if able to express a view, it is one with which a small innocent child dying in extreme agony would agree.

As far as 'climate change' is concerned, I think mankind has matters of greater urgency to address. The overpopulation of this planet, if left unchecked, is one that comes to mind. Furthermore, there is pressing need for the peoples of this world to interact with far greater wisdom and consideration for one another than they have previously shown. A big ask, perhaps, but to continue in the present fashion (where, increasingly, nations are seeking nuclear capability) will broaden the risk that mankind will hasten his own demise long before the effects of 'global warming' or 'climate change'. In saying that, I'm surmising 'global warming' will eventually become a universally accepted phenomenon. At the present time, in view of differing scientific opinion, it is something about which I am not totally convinced.

Who said God is a person. Your assumption. I am not a believer or a disbeliever but prefer to believe in a superior being, whatever language if any that he/she speaks doubt whether it would be English. Maybe a little green man from mars, others probably find it disconcerting for Atheists to keep on proclaiming that there is no God. Everyone is entitled to their beliefs but should keep to themselves. Am well aware that a lot of the worlds troubles are caused through religion this by the zealots trying to force theirs on others .As religions go I fancy the Buddhist one where we all come back as someone else, Would like to come back as someones pet dog, preferably some young ladies.
