Easy way to lose ten pounds of ugly fat. Cut your head off. And the best way to stay looking young, is never look in the mirror while wearing your reading glasses, cheers Albi

Hi All.
I have never been a fitness addict unless you call working fitness, Building work, renovating about seven houses, working untill I was 71, the last ten years of it climbing funnels and masts. I am as fit as the next man. I have had prostate cancer for 12 years which means three monthly implants, I have good colesterol, but a pulse that misses every fourth beat,[just found that one, Dr threw a wobbly] Had a heart attack 15 years ago, My left eye has macular degeneration, My wife sometimes thinks I'm a pain in the ****, Oh! that's another thing I have a pile. I recently ripped my shoulder muscle cutting down trees with a hand saw and now I have to start painting the inside of the house. All in all I think at 79 and 13 stone but well covered around the waist I'm doing OK.
Cheers Des

Re: Confessions of a health addict
#1 My Dear Rodney, To answer your question....I'm thinking you are a lost cause
When I married my hubby 36 years ago he was 6ft and 13 stone 7lbs. Broad shouldered and
muscular thighs.
Over the years he gathered a few extra stone which I rather liked all the more to cuddle into. Then unfortunately he developed sleep apnoea and type 2 diabetes. Drastic action was called for. Within six months the excess was off walking 10 miles per day and swimming several times a week. Of course the alcohol stopped and calories and fat were cut and within 18 months the diabetes and apnoea gone, along with two inches in height, down one shoe size and every bit of body fat apart from a little around his tummy. It took quite a while for me to recognise this new man when approaching him in the street. Now he feels cold when the temperature drops and has taken to wearing a coat & scarf. In bed the duvet is wrapped around his ears and he'll say coorie in [cuddle in] and I think to what? when all he is after is a heat
So Rodney I cannot agree with a "lean mean fighting machine" ...sorry would much rather have a bit of my old husband back
He'll kill me if ever reads this

Re: Confessions of a health addict
I can relate to that situation Marian
I was always at a steady 89 Kilos in my years gone by,pretty fit too!
However I put on too much weight at one stage from the Booze, and looked terrible ,a face like a bullfrog! (OK I still may look like one LOL)
But I cut all the Booze out after my Heart Attack and went back to normal weight at 89 kilo
However over the past two Years I also have now had Diabetes Type 2,and high Sugar levels so cut all the Sugar out and junk foods!
I am now at 70 kilo a bit too light but cannot seem to be able to mow put on any weight again, unless I revert to Sugar and foods which are bad for me!
I love the cooler Climate but have in the recent past felt that it can get too cold at times, and I do now feel it more than before!
Still feeling fine though just a few old aches and pains but naught serious!
Irene says that I look much better like this than before,so we all differ I suppose!
Just my little input!
Cheers
