Louis I always got a crew cut right down to the bone the day I sailed. Talking of Gravesend being an ex peanut myself I have seen lads refuse to visit sweeney todd on arrival and actually turned back and went home. I wonder how many out there regret that move Regards Lou, Terry.:th_thth5952deef:

first trip i was on the first class lifts. the barber had been in our cabin and when he left he left a pair of thinning scissors behind. as we were all skint it was decided that we would cut each others hair. i was first and last! the scissors took great chunks out of my hair and when i reported for duty the second steward banned me from any passenger area until my hair had been sorted out. on UCL they used to have whist drives for the crew. i won two booby prizes. free haircuts..

Does anyone remember the Go****g barber in Lagos, Apapa side in the early 50s,.he came on board and tied the sheet around your neck then disapeared under it for ten minutes.
I never used him but saw a few who did.

first hair-cut I had at sea, and many, many more after was done by 'scouse' the barber??? in Port Said.
Fair do's, he gave an acceptable crew cut
