What a queen??
Now just for Jim some non doom and gloom.
Many years ago in a prevous life I owned a couple of pubs in Kent. A Kiwi visiting friends in Cobham began to frequent my pub and I got talking to him. He was about 45 years old at that time in 1975. When he learned of my time in the MN he told me of an event which he claimed took place in Napier in the very early 60's.
It involved a NZSC ship I think maybe one of the R boats. They were in Napier for an extended period for some reason, and on board were a few persons of alternative sexual persuasion.
As they were in Napier for some time two of these lovely persons decided to get married. They secured the services a local priest and a church was booked for the service.
On the day the two arrived one drssed as a 'bride' long dress and a wig.
The service began and half way through another person of alternative sexual persuasion rushed up the aisle, tore the wig off the 'bride' and as he told it all hell broke loose.
Now I am aware he may have been having a lend of me, but this was NZ in the 60's and we all heard of some odd things going on.
Was this fact or fiction, do any of you know of this tale?

'queens'
It's a wonder the authorities ever let the Dominion Monarch dock in N.Z. There seemed to be more 'men' who sat down to have a pee than any-one else.

Remember that 'affair'.
Wern't a bunch of big shots invited to the wedding not knowing that the bride was a Mr.
Alos heard that the ship was banned from the coast for some time, but don't know if that was the case?

Obviously something happened in NZ at that time. It may well be that the various stories are all from the one, but time has in some cases embelished them. But it was NZ, the land where at that time,if you have more than one girl friend you are most likely a sheepherd.
