Re: Souters/ Blandford Shipping
#21. Thanks Graham have dragged my second discharge book out from the depths of darkness and shows I was there from the 26.6.76. To the 16.10.76 signing on in Spain and paying off in Charleston. Another of these ever lasting names as master Murdo Macleod from the usual place Stornaway. The official number although blurred with the ink running 3 of the numbers are discernable and match up . I left there and joined the Temple Hall the same management company whose working address was Whitco ( Marine Services) Co. Ltd. 87 Blackfriars Road , London
I was signed on as Ch. officer on both vessels. A quick sea change in 1977 to the delights of the North Sea and on the Wimpey Seawolf, Seafox, Seadog, then for the next 8 years with Seaforth Maritime of Aberdeen , who were a bit more civilised until they crumpled about 1986. Cheers JS

Re: Souters/ Blandford Shipping
The "Scottish Wasa" was an ore-carrier owned by Whitwill Cole (Whitco). She was ex-Common Brothers' "Iron Crown" and managed/crewed by Souter. Likewise the "Irish Wasa" (ex- Souter ore-carrier "Sheaf Wear") and the "British Wasa" a geared(derricks) bulker ex "Belo Mundo", normally engaged in the cement trade to Santo Domingo
