Hi I was on that same course sep to dec 1963, I think I was probably the only englishman on that course and on the course photograph taken in our uniforms I am the short blonde haired kid in the centre of the back row. but my first trip was as a catering boy on the mv Buffalo of Coast lines, on the Liverpool/ Belfast run. I enjoyed being in catering and so my whole 5 years in the MN were in catering with me ending my sea going life on the old RMS Queen Elizabeth late on in 1968.

so did I and just about everyone else on the instrumentation course (old college in Leith), our instructor warned us about going there everytime we came back after "lunch" said we should avoid places like that ha ha!
