Union Castle
Many years ago when on the British Argyle, the Cook, who had been a steward in Union Castle gave me three items. He knew I collected shipping memorabilia. The items were to do with end of the mail service to South Africa.
First day covers posted in Southampton and Capetown, 1977.
A spinks medal in a case showing the first and last mail steamer.
A mirror in colour, showing Union Castle and Safmarine liners and headlined, End of the line.
Have often checked EBay to see if listed and often wondered how many of them were issued.
