Thanks Maureen, but the number on the tag R44938 someone has found out it relates to another person Charles Peco Maloney and is not my relative. I have since found out from my mother that he wasn't the black sheep of the family and she did know him but as Uncle Johnny, a greengrocer. Will still be looking at what services he was in in WW2 probably Army could be Navy as these were to two services most common to the family.
