Can anyone remember???

We were alongside Bridgetown Barbados, Harrison Boat. Big cruise liner tied up further up the quay. We were watching them all going ashore one evening at the hand rails. This queen dressed in a pink trouser suite and pink hat walked along the quay of course we all whistled, As he waved back he shouted my name is spangles, The fruitiest of all fruits, I am off to have a ball or two or maybe three blowing us all a kiss.:laughing:

I remember Terry Milner don't think I sailed with him/her on the port boats think it was on one of there fruit boats. there was another 2nd steward who I sailed with on the Port Chalmers was Freddy Gasgoine

Hi Neil, I had a very good mate who was in the Port Chalmers he done a few trips in her his name was John Hillier, I remember being in a PSNC boat here in Liverpool and going to a party aboard the Chalmers with him, It would have been around xmas time early 70s. He is the only seaman I ever knew who left the M.N. And joined the army Regards Terry. ;)
