The builder of this yacht stated on the net the other day that it was unsinkable.
A company "White Star' made a similar comment in 1912!!
Talking about Yachts the sail training vessel the Leeuwin was hit by a container ship today in Fremantle harbour whilst berthed alongside the passenger ship berth on the south side of the harbour . By the photos on tv she looks ready for the scrapyard. Cheers JS

It is a myth plain and simple.
I can find no contemporary evidence that the Titanic was regarded as virtually unsinkable until after she had sunk ... With hindsight we have created the myth because it makes a more dramatic metaphor.
