Sorry to disagree John , but most of the students protesting have a FAR greater understanding of the history of Palestine and the current ongoing situation than anyone.

I spent 14 years working in a Uni.
From experience most students follow like sheep if they think there may be some thing in it for them.
Many go from Uni to a job as a poli staffer, then into parliament.
Most often have very distorted concept of the truth preferring to get their info from social media rather than history books.
Give them $20 and they will join any march, many not even knowing what they march about.
History books!!! when you think about it!!!!! are a form of Social media?
Where do you get your information ? Only today ,from a reliable source, is news of after being given the co-ordinates of the whereabouts of the aid workers the IDF used that information to target them. More aid workers have been slaughtered than in any other comparable conflict.
Please read or watch news from a media other than one that believes everything put out by the Israeli government or especially the IDF who have proven to be totally unreliable.
The Hamas attack was brutal ,but the claims made made about their extreme behaviour have been exposed as invention by neutral investigators including Israelis !
When they shoot their own people escaping captivity waving a wite flag does not bode well for AVOIDING civilian casualties .

I know in times of war accidents happen, but I think the isreali army seem to have no compunction to just kill all in the sights, which have included their own, what amazes me is the number of Isreali women who are in the middle of the fighting, something I haven't heard of with Hamas.

Out of interest what sources do you use for your information ? I always thought the Guardian could be trusted but am more than willing to search elsewhere. I don't trust the main stream media in the US but find Democracy Now, a streaming service reliable as well as al jazeera, BBC ......

OMG what an awful position to take . Approving of the killing of of close to 40,000 innocent civilians , a good proportion of them women and children as young as new borns.There nave been countless massacres since before WW2. To this day illegal settlers are randomly ,almost on a daily basis, killing Palestinians in the West Bank. and now destroying food convoys to starving people, Where is your sense of outrage?

Hey Des, A bit of info on women in the IDF. "Women are allowed to serve as tank crews in the Border Defense Array, composed of units that guard the borders of Israel with Egypt and Jordan. Despite being officially classified as combat soldiers, women in combat roles are not explicitly deployed into combat situation"

The media of all sorts, be it the Times of London or the New York Post will offer any news that will sell copy.
It does not have to be the full story, as long as the public take notice or are shocked by it.
As we know truth is the first casualty of any war.
If what we see is true then yes women and children are being slaughtered by Israel forces.
But listen to the PM of Israel, he makes it quite clear he will go to any length to stop HAMAS.
But all he will kill are the foot soldiers, the head will survive in either Syria, Jordan or some other mid East country.
If the reports are true then after the war Israel wants to re-build GAZA, yes no doubt to their benefit.
Is world scared of israel,UN,ICJ, are a joke fellas,the slaughter goes on aided by uk/usa etc sending missiles that hamas,hezbollah,houtis are eliminatinng with cheap made drones,ewekay are sheep following usa
