Re: Red Sea Antics
According to the news today petrol prices are on the way down now as a result of improved Red Sea conditions.
It certianly has dropped rapidly where we live.
Saw a bit on the news last night about the biggest container ship now afloat.
Reporter said it can carry 62000 containers.!!!!
I just hope someone got the decimal point in the wrong place and it is 6200

Re: Red Sea Antics
I think the kerfuffle in bottom end of the Red Sea is just a Rehersal for what’s to come. The Wagner group or whatever they call themselves today have all but taken over port Sudan, that along with the Houthi’s and South Africa’s government leaning towards Russia , loading arms and ammunition in the Cape ( which they deny )and the state capture by Indian Business interests in addition to China control of minerals. Leads me to believe a choke hold on the trade routes is on the cards. If that happens all hell will break loose and make the Middle East conflicts seem like a little skirmish.

Re: Red Sea Antics
People laughed when Merkel & Macron called for the formation of a Europen Military. I would not put money on the USA riding to the rescue of the western world, they are to busy backing Israel.
N.A.T.O has been proven to have no balls. No doubt President Zelenskyy will find that out soon enough, especially if Donald Trump gets the keys to the Whitehouse. President Biden is certainly no friend of the UK.
Ukraine falls it will only be a matter of time before Putin looks for the soft spot in Europe.

John
It shouldn't affect the price of petrol here, any stoppage in the Red Se should only affect oil prices in Europe, the Persian Gulf leads down into the Arabian sea then the Indian Ocean, but any excuse will do for the oli rich countries.

Re: Red Sea Antics
According to news today USA is not a member of OPE Case is the case with a number of other countries.
So the price of oil continues to drop.

Re: Red Sea Antics
The thing is, oil won't last much longer.
I remember chatting to an Arab geezer up the gulf many years ago. He was telling me that oil will all be gone in 20/30 years, must be 60 years gone now.
Those Arab states, or the people that own them, probably own half the world if not most of it. I think that sometime soon, the once oil rich middle east will just be a pile of sand, but they will control much of the rest of the worlds business.
When it comes to fuel, any influence they can have regarding them making money will persist. If they want to make the canal a costly way to trade around the world, they will. These terrorist groups are usually set up by those countries in order to control things. You can't come around here, so go the long way round, but you will have to fill up with our oil to do so.
