I was on a cruise returning from the states, when we were caught in a hurricane for about four days. We were sailing beam on to the sea and wind the whole time, first one side then the other. I was actually shocked at how steady the ship (Arcadia) was. Yes it was rough for a cruise, but I'd never sailed side on to the sea like that before. I spoke to the skipper one day, and asked him how it's done, he said it was all about the stabilisers. I'd only been on one ship (Amazon) with that kind of thing before.
