#95 A bit more breaking off the sun and hitting the earth ? we only have climate as is due to the earths inclination and rotational orbit round the Sun at varying speeds and distances. The slightest change in such will cause what most call Climate Change. Man made big bangs like nucleur explosions could cause such. The first thing that should be done is to prevent such ever happening. After that everyone can go outside with an aerosol can and make the air smell like Roses again. Forget about taking it out on the poor old bovines maybe turn to cannibalism to keep the population down. Cheers JS
#94 Good excuse for getting an early start on the bus for breaking the seal on the choc bars. ? JS

I can see people now going into the butchers and ordering some Long Pig.

Greenland discovered by the Vikings was then just that, a Greenland.

Norway and Sweden up to 1905 were one country with Burgen as the capital.
About 2500 years ago climate began to change from Mediteranea to sub Arctic of today.
A process that took about 800 years, no global warming then.
Worked out of Bergen on a supply vessel John , think we were the only British ship that did ,think this was done as too many oil companies bye passing British ships for Norske in the British Sector. So was just to show bit of bulldust. However they made the stipulation that being a foreign vessel we had to use a pilot while their own vessels did not. The pilots were never in a rush to get us in and out , therefore the time lost was not beneficial to the charterers and the charter did not last too long . There is dirty work at the cross roads of any industry. Shipping in particular . Never knew however Norway and Sweden were one country until 1905. Just shows what a better education you had . Cheers JS
Think I posted this before, but anyway.
I was watching some blokes working in Dagenham a few years ago. They were drilling deep into the ground by the Ford factory. I asked what it was about, and they said it was a survey, to discover the history of that area. They showed me several samples from different depths, covering maybe many thousands of years. One sample was from when the area was tropical, with teeth from crocodiles and even sharks. They reckoned the whole of London was probably under the sea at one time. They also told me about the samples from when it was all covered in very deep ice. They seemed to be proper people for doing that kind of thing, so I imagine it was not all bull****.
Agree with the local shops thing. I shop local when I can.
John, I only found out about Norway/Sweden split in 1905 last hear when in Iceland.
But in Honisvarg, furthest north land area there is a center with all manner of info about the land, climate and any thing else you need.
Pity some of our 'Climate Change' scientists do not take a look there.
