Hi Colin, fully agree with you, she was an exceptional woman, but I also think they should have one for the nurses shot down in the sea by the foul Japs. Instead we have our politicians crawling up their backsides, and all this happened in living memory.

Here in Victoria we had a nurses strike back in the mid 80's.
The financial advisor acting for the pay claim was Julia Gillard, later to become PM of Oz.
But sadly the nurses and ambos are used as political cannon fodder at times.
Main problem is Medicare, great concept but badly implemented and managed.
Should have been instigated at 0.25% and increased by that amount each 6 months until kt reached 6%
Would have put enough into the system fort it to operate in the best manner.
From a KPMG report some years ago.
