Massive earthquake
Three massive 8.3 earthquakes has hit near the Kermadic Islands in the Pacific, NZers from all along the East coast have been told to immediately move to higher ground, as they are expecting a huge tsunami, and not to use their cars in order to stop traffic jams, all the pacific Islanders are also moving to the highest ground possible. We have relatives who are on the coast in the North island, I hope they are safe, it's a worry.

Re: Massive earthquake
All well now, not the usual spot for earthquakes in NZ, mostly to the south.
But having been in one I can assure you it is not something you want to undergo ever if possible.
The mast frightening thing is not the movement it is the noise.
Imagine a dozen jumbos taking off at once and you get close to knowing how it sounds.

Re: Massive earthquake
Victoria, You left the beauty of WA to go to Tassie??
I follow the weather reports across the nation, Pert is warm just about all the year.
Tassie looks like s freezer in comparison.
