Why ban them Terry, my other hobby is photography and I use a drone to capture unusual image.
Many others use them in peaceful persuits, there is now doubt whether a drone was actually involved.

police use them to locate body's in wooded areas its a shame they are abused by some? jp
I have just sat on the wings looking in on this Thread because I wanted to see the oiutcome of it all.
I now see on the News here Tonight that there is as said a very good possibility that there were in fact no Drones in this saga, and the two persons that were taken in and held are now released without charges,so a big bungle by the Authorities and seems that there was Panic for nothing, although I know that safety was the first priority.
Lets hope that they can come up with the real issue of what happened and I hope that the Couple that were charges sue to pants off whoever!
just my opinion of jumping the Gun,so to speak!
This is what can happen so easily in life to innocent People ruining their lives,it could have been you or me!
Cheers

The latest from BBC
Det Ch Supt Jason Tingley said at the weekend it was a "possibility" there had never been a drone, as police had not been able to acquire any footage.
But he later clarified: "We are interviewing those who have reported these sightings, are carrying out extensive house-to-house inquiries and carrying out a forensic examination of a damaged drone found near the perimeter of the airport near Horley, which is close to the last reported sighting."
He said there were some "persons of interest" but would not reveal if police were close to making any further arrests."

Being cynical, they are in for big payouts, sue D.M. plus other newspapers.
Police will be in the fire as well.

Gatwick 'no drone' police comment 'miscommunicated'
The suggestion there may not have been any drones at Gatwick Airport was a "miscommunication by police", a government source has told the BBC.
A government source said the force accepted that there had been "poor communications".

Reading in todays paper the mans boss said the police had not contacted him had they have done so he would never have been arrested and held in custody. He could've told the police where he was at the time of all the supposed drone sightings.Seen the man on TV today it has certainly affected him he was still very shook up,I hope he does take the newspapers to the cleaners.

NOT a joke Xmas joke, seriously, just had a knock at the door, in the middle of Xmas dinner. Theres a guy standing there who says, could i have my drone back mister?, and his drone had landed in my back garden !!I kid you not. Sure enough landed in the border, with its lights all flashing, a 1 ft square drone !!!, i did ask him if he had just come from Gatwick, joking of course. So looks like this could be a popular Xmas present this year, kt
Drones are not just a toy you can pick up and play with, they require a skill which you have to learn.
My first flight was a disaster, nearly wrecked the roof, her indoors was not best pleased.
Control, requires dexterity quick reaction and loads of concentration.
