Re: Drones
Jim, we are primary a Maritime Site and all that goes with it. We are not a political site. I appreciate that current Politics are a major influence in our lives at the moment and will have a major bearing on our future. As an understanding of this, two political threads were allowed to run but have now outrun their usefulness, in that nothing is going to be decided until the 14th Jan of next year and no amount of repetition of things political will alter that. In between we have Christmas and New Year and a chance to escape the Politics and the Politicians. Vernon asked nicely that we could escape politics and refrain from Political matters over the festive season, just like the politicians are doing now. Certain members and one in particular who knows who he is, don't seem to be able to grasp this and wish to consistently and knowingly, inject politics back into the site. As they do this so they will be brought to task and I will if necessary not only bring them to task but also delete their post, threads etc if that is what it takes. It is not a case of freedom of speech issues, it is a case of goodwill and understanding. Leniency was given in allowing the two Threads, due to the importance of the issue, however this has now been turned against the site and people now want to exercise their perceived rights whilst ignoring the site rules. Not on. Lets embrace the spirit of the season and let the whole issue lie until the New Year when the whole thing rears its ugly face again. Thank you.

Re: Drones
Chris I agree far to much politics on here of recent I even posted regarding it last week jokingly asking where you were to put the blocks on it.Todays thread I wouldn't say was political just a bit of banter regarding a few politicians who are a joke anyway.

Re: Drones
the cost5 must be millions , hundreds of wrecked holidays if not tens of thousands, if the arrested pair are guilty , then I hope they get a sentence to reflect the 140,000 people who had cancel their holiday

Re: Drones
I see the arrested couple have been released without charge police are quite happy that they were not involved in any way.The way in which the press and media have splashed their names all over the place,I think it was the Mail that had a very bad front page regarding them.Scroll down to Daily Mail, what happened to being innocent until proved guilty.

Re: Drones
These drones are virtually impossible to locate, The Army have been drafted in with gear that is currently being used in different areas around the world if they cant locate where it is based then I doubt they ever will . I believe as in most cases the police where acting on information from the public which by there own admition solve many many mysterious crimes that they cant Terry.

Re: Drones
Al qu ed a , have announced the will be attacking airports and planes with drones packed with explosives.
I wrote to the PM a few years ago saying they should be banned, a very useful tool for the terrorist, no need to be a soo i side bommer.
Buy one for £12
anyone using one should be shot on sight, only Security services allowed to use them.

Re: Drones
Brian, I was on Crosby Marina in the summer after eating at the hotel based there it was a beautiful summers evening and me and the wife had a stroll around the lake, As we walked across the car park we watched a young lad get one of these things out of the boot of his car it was air bound in minutes and it had a very large radius indeed. That's what I believe is happening at Gatwick, Whoever they are could live up here in L,pool drive down South cause mayhem for an hour land it and drive back. Afraid there is only one way of defeating them as you say ban them all together and like carrying a gun in public legislate a minimum 10 year mandatory jail term for anyone flying them I cant see any other way around it Terry.
