Re: MV Doulos
Looks like the same ship, came her to Oz back in the late 90's or maybe about 2002.
Was then some form of floating library travelling the globe.
Went down to Geelong twice to see her.
Not allowed on bord but there was a stand with leaflets explaining her history.

Happy daze John in Oz.

Back in the day when I was working for SABC television, I was send to Walvis Bay to join the Doulos for the trip down to Cape Town. It was a most interesting voyage as we were conducting an interview in one of the cabins when they sounded the emergency alarms. The camera crew had a good laugh at my expense, "You should have seen your face Ian when that lot went off" Yeah to you ait's a part of the trip to me it means I could be dead in 30 seconds as I had heard it for real when the "Griqualand caught fire odd Durban in 1970

Mr Scott says it’s expected that around 2,500 a day will visit the ship when it’s docked at cities including Brisbane, Sydney, Geelong, Albany and Fremantle. As well as talking with those who venture aboard, crew members will also be sent out in teams to help out at churches or missions in the area around the ports.
