Athlone Castle still around then, i actually went back to South Africa on her as DBS in 1964 , however someone made a big Bo Bo, and i was actually given a normal passenger Cabin, amongst the Bloods and had exactly the same privliges as any passenger. Great trip back home , and Wow even being Served by the Crew! Some balls up!

Like all the other Passengers i had my Envelopes ready for Disembarking Day, and a few Handshakes took place !
Since the earlier days of mine too , when a Waiter on the South African Railways, learnt then about good Tipping.
Have always given good Tips to many a Waiter in Restaurants and the like !
