re: only surviving ship to transport convicts to Australia
The last convicts came to Oz, into WA, a bloody long time ago.
If that ship is still around she must be like the Ark!!!!!

Happy daze John in Oz.

The last convict ship to Australia, was Western Australia 1868 I believe, so in W.A at least there are some close relatives of said convicts.
A badge of honour these days.

Hi Fred.
The oldest ship I can say I sailed on if only from Sydney Heads to Piermont was the James Craig, a memory I still cherish.

Re: only surviving ship to transport convicts to Australia
Hi Des,
I too sailed on the "old " James Criag, she was in Newcastle a while back, years fly by these days, we sailed out the Heads past Nobbys and into
Stockton Bight and back into Lee Wharf #5 I think for afternoon tab nabs.
Really enjoyed it, especially seeing I was a guest of some one who had paid for the ticket.

Hi Fred.
You may have read my post awhile ago about steering the Bounty from the Heads to Peirmont one of my best experiences ever, so I was on both ships.
Cheers Des
