Re: Millitary and Work History
Hi everyone, firstly thanks to all of you whoc has tried to help me a few months ago. In the last few months ive been searching and asking family memebers etc to see if they could shed any light on my grandads WW1 whereabouts and what he was doing.
In the end i contacted the Canada records for Merchant Seaman and ordered his documents and i was so excited as thought i'd finally put this WW1 search behind me. Well, i got them and i was gutted. they proved the following via email...
I have retrieved the crew list and log book dated 29/12/18 – 4/4/19. Walter Davison is among the crew. He is not on any of the later voyages for that year. His previous vessel was the Herrington, ON 118649 in 1914. Crew lists of voyages terminating in 1914 for that vessel are held at the National Archives in Kew, reference number BT 99/3038.
I've had a look on the National Archives and cannot find him. please find attached the documents i received from Canada. WarReef1919_001.jpgWarReef1919_002.jpgWarReef1919_003.jpgWarReef1919_004.jpgWarReef1919_005.jpgWarReef1919_006.jpgWarReef1919_007.jpgWarReef1919_008.jpg
