Pier 90, new york, near diner.
Here is a photo from the webcam of the Queen Mary 2 at Pier 90 on 21 May, the block where the Market Diner was is on the left, now the Hustler, the building ahead on 50th St and 12th looks as tho` it is being demolished. Does anyone know what that building is or was?.

The Red Ensign club methinks. Catered for the Cunarders and other Brit ships that berthed on the Cunard piers 90? and 92 and the Queen of Bermuda's, Ocean Monarch's pier which was the one to the north, up river of the Cunard Piers.

The DINER has long gone Len.
It became the Olympus a Greek place then closed for a long time, then demolished and rebuilt as a Strip Club called The Hustler. Got a photo somewhere,
Cheers

Re: Pier 90, new york, near diner.
There is a "New" Market Diner. I saw it on Google Earth, Street View, It's one avenue up and would be more or less in line with the old one. Totally different type of place though.
PS. Just tries to upload a picture from Google Earth, I can't do it.

Re: Pier 90, new york, near diner.
Here are two photos, One of the old original Diner as we knew it with Cadillac Kate's car outside.
and as it is now after being demolished and rebuilt as THE HUSTLER, strip joint. The little Park is still there to the left.
Had some good times in the Diner, . I sat next to Grace Kelly one night, she was in a white ermine fur coat, with some other people, When she went Gene, the Bartender said to me, `You know who that was ?` I said `no , but I would like to.`
He said `That was Grace Kelly , the movie Star. ` I felt the seat, it was still warm.
Happy days.
