Re: happy valley in curacao
Think it was Curacao where the name of Campo sticks in my memory, was an open air brothel with bits of villas on site for those who wanted to use them ? Or am I thinking of some other Island ? JS

Re: Brothels
[QUOTE=Doc Vernon;414945]Anyone been to the old Sloppy Joes Bar in Havana Cuba! Said to have the longest Bar in the days. But there was or is another Sloppy Joes Bar in Key West Florida, also renowned for its Hey Day Antics and Hard Drinkers!
Only remember 'Tia Nina's' in Havana,Cuba but, remember we were at anchor in Havana, no room dockside. Anyway, i hurt my thumb and was ferried ashore with 5 crew members who had the clap to see a doctor. I was the first one called in see the doctor and when he said drop your pants I said whoa, it's my thumb I'm here about. pretty hilarious really.

Re: happy valley in curacao
Did a number of trips on product tankers running up and down the west coast of Mexico, loading in Salina Cruz and discharging at ports right up to the USA border. We were on charter to pemex, the mexican state oil company. To carry out annual surveys the Lloyds surveyor, a German guy, would come down from Mexico city to carry out the surveys but he spent most of his time shacked up in the Campos of whichever port we were in, only attending to sign the certificate. Those Campos were like old wild west towns.

Re: Brothels
Most will know the hotel in Kaoshuing if there in that era of the curfew , as for the Cages once seen never forgotten. Now if you want real luxury try the new brothel in Kalgoorlie , so I am told ? JS
