Gotcha!
A large brown envelope thudded onto my mat this morning- yes, the Watchfinder General has finally ran me to ground. Bit of a relief really, no more dreading the postmans knock and switching off the tv at the sound of a vehicle outside. I shall delay payment (£157.50) to see if any options appear. However there all back dated to August 1st so no advantage delaying
payment.

Re: Gotcha!
I decided to pay Weekly.
If you pay for 12 months and snuff it then they have your money , but if you snuff it after five months then you save., and your family can have a party on the save.

Thanks for suggesting those options Kong, although a touch of covid19 might well solve any dilemma.
Stay safe and stay alive.

Re: Gotcha!
Always paid annually but, as the price has gone up continually,
now pay quarterly.

Re: Gotcha!
I phoned the number on the letter they sent.
There is a Shell garage just around the corner, I go in every week and pay
I fill up there every week so no probs.
I should have asked the man on the phone, When I go off for my yearly three month cruise why do I have to pay??
The fellow next door has SEVEN TV s on in all five bedrooms and lounge and dining room.
I have one. So why do I have to pay the same as him??like having a meal in a restaraunt and paying the same as a table for seven people.
The rest of my neighbours are all on Benefits every one has an old lady registered as the TV owner on pension credit so none of them pay.
It is a Bad system.
We have to pay this to pay for the impoverished Millionaires like Gary Linneker, who is only paid a miserable £1,750,000 just for burbling about some stupid football match.
what a stupid system.

Re: Gotcha!
Look on the bright side Brian, walking to the garage and paying every week, you're getting some exercise.

Re: Gotcha!
Sorry for being a dumb Yank, but what is "Watchfinder General"? I'm guessing it's something to do with TV tax or insurance? Clarification please.
Cheers, Rodney

Its a EUPHEMISM for the BBC TV Licence Gestapo. A private company contracted, at great expense, to collect TV license fees for the BBC.
CURRENTLY IT IS A CRIMINAL OFFENCE NOT TO PAY! any other similar offence is considered not to be criminal but civil.
The law is currently under review as the BBC has decided that in order to continue paying obscene salaries to staff etc. that people over 75 have now got to pay or be prosecuted under criminal law. They are expecting huge numbers of pensioners not paying.
Sorry to ramble but it boils my p-ss just thinking about it.
