Costigan - Did you know?
Hello
I’d be interested to learn if anyone knew of my grandfather Richard Costigan (b1885) or my father also Richard “Dick” Costigan (b1913) both from Tynemouth. It would be great to find out what ships they sailed on.
I knew my father was with Esso & was Chief Engineer on the Esso Lincoln for many years.
Also wondered if either was eligible for Arctic Star & how to find crew lists. Many thanks.

Re: Costigan - Did you know?
Thus far have found no records for your Father, which could mean that he was still at Sea after 1972 ?? But that is something that looks a bit shaky?
Do you recall anything on when he left the Service?
Cheers
And there seems to be no records of Crew Lists for the Ship 304280 Esso Lincoln 31,720 Ton
Builder 1962 Nederlandsche Dok Steam Turbine Kaohsiung 1976 Broken Up

Re: Costigan - Did you know?
Thanks again - I'm sure he was still working in some shape or form after 72 but not sure where. Silverline rings a bell? As a family we were in Amsterdam in 62 when he was working for Esso during construction of Esso Lincoln & after that my mother sailed several times to Persian Gulf etc.

Re: Costigan - Did you know?
There was / is a manning agency in Liverpool called Silver Marine Services , a Miss Silver ran it. I took one job off her which did not go to plan. This was 1969. JS.

Re: Costigan - Did you know?
Thanks JS - yes Silver Marine rings a bell and for some reason I seem to remember that it wasn't the best job he'd taken on!
