the £ is $0.017 Higher than June 2016
I have all last month, April, been getting 1.4039 US $ to the pound £ on my spending on my American Express card.
I do not mind the Pound£ going down, it boosts the value of my dividends and share values on my USA Shares.
Now give what the £ is against the € since June 2016. More people in the UK travel to Europe for there holidays than they do to the USA. I also suspect we trade more with Europe than we do with the USA.
world wide trade in oil always is in $US as are many raw materials , Euro was 06/16 close of market 1.1998 , spot price today 1.137 , roughly a 5% fall
Never been to Europe for 22 years, and no intention of doing so.
Last time I checked The British Isles had not drifted off into the mid Atlantic has and always will be part of the continent of Europe.Attachment 26371
There you go just incase you thought it had moved while you were away on your holidays. When are you going to post some photos of your trip. Which ship were you on. Do you do a drop off and stay a few days down there and pick up another on the way through ?
Did you ever do the Bank Line 12 passenger boats. They used to be regular callers down that way .I believe they were nearly solidly booked up for up to 2 years in advance. Geest Line had a similar setup not sure if they still do or are even still in shipping these days.
Ye Gods , we are moored next to Europe , cast off forward , cast off aft , full ahead both , set a course for the Americas
I have just done a GBP/Euro transfer not more than 20 minutes ago. I do not use the banks as they really rip you off, been moving money around for long enough to know how the system works, unless the rate has lost 2cents since trading opened this morning best rate I have seen since lunchtime was GBP V Euro for transactions under £25,000 was €1.1117 . August 2015 £1.00 = €1.43,now tell me the GBP has not taking a fall.
