Thanks for that Terry. When I saw the vodka and gin on sale in this shop I asked one of the owners how come you are selling these products. He explained that as the distillery in Paisley distilled whisky, and they had decided to branch out, he thought he would support them in their new lines. I have to say if you ever get the chance to visit Inveraray then pay the whisky shop on the high street a visit. They ship all over the world, but when you see what they are selling the choices are mind boggling.
    Regards
    John

John, The next time I go up to Scotland which is regular during the lets say warmer months to visit my brother living in Dunlop and not very well at the moment ,We always take a run around the Glasgow area, The square where that tragedy took place pre Christmas with the bin wagon, Is a bit like our St Johns Market but much more going on up there. Our kid only drinks whiskey no water no ice no lemonade and no beer, This is his favourite tipple he says its in the top 5 sellers in Scotch up there. Yes mate I will pay the place a visit Cheers Terry.

#23 & 24, Sounds as if I need to take you two spirit shopping!

John there is a very good whisky shop in Callander too. Next time you are through this way.... also beyond Inveraray, great one in Campbeltown. In its hey day there were 30
distilleries plus there, now only three left

Thanks for that info Marian. I often pass through Callander on my way to visit my daughter in Oban. Will keep a look out for that grog shop next time we're passing through.

St Georges square in Glasgow is just one big open square with monuments and flower beds dotted around the place. Traffic circumnavigates on all four sides and the place is surrounded by shops, bars, restaurants and hotels. At various times of the year they have different events held in the square. Good place to go if you are out for a few drinks and a meal.
    Regards
    John

That's what I meant John. Where as every visitor to Liverpool will visit St Johns market for shopping along with the new L,POOL one area and maybe the Albert dock complex, The square in Glasgow has a lot more going on inside it and is the main attraction for anyone that visits the city Regards Terry. p.s. I have spent xmas up there in the past and there is a great carnival atmosphere in St Georges Square. I am amazed there were not more casualties Terry.

    Great chieftain graphic

Miss Brown said the earliest reference to a Scottish haggis she could find was from 1747 - pointing to the likelihood that the recipe had been copied from English sources
