Recognize you now Des, remember I loaned you a fiver, must have accumulated quiet a bit of interest by now. That was obviously before going into Ma Gleasons. JS

Just seems like there are more of them in the States.
Maybe living close to the border, we get more contact than most.

I don't know about a suit and tie, they were worn for the evening out. The dungaree tuxedo was the rig in Hull during the day. Alan V.

If you want cheap gear,go down to the Sally Ann.
The jackets may have the odd bullet hole or tire mark, but other than that good for the price.

    Hi Den
I used to use the Salvation Army in New York, 8th Ave I think.
I got a beautiful drape, pure silk, midnight blue suit , $10 Three bullet holes in the back, It had been dry cleaned but the lining still carried a big stain. Mother darned the holes, they get them from the Morgue. also white silk shirts one dollar that was in 1956.
I looked a million dollars in that when I went to the Locarno, a pack of Luckies in the top pocket, a mid Atlantic accent, a western ocean roll and a genuine fake Rolex on the wrist.
Must have looked a right twallop.
    Cheers
    Brian.

I remember being on Hessle Road in the 50s with my mate Terry Ledger when we saw his younger brother walking towards us wearing a bright salmon pink suit. We both dashed into Boyes store to avoid being seen with him!!

In the late 50s Iwas on Hessle Road with my mate Terry Ledger when we saw his younger brother, also a fisherman, walking towards us. He was wearing a bright, salmon pink suit with all the usual dressings, bell bottoms pleats etc. We both dodged in Boyes store to avoid being seen with him!!
