I remember being on Hessle Road in the 50s with my mate Terry Ledger<unfortunately lost at sea> when we saw his younger brother walking towards us wearing a bright salmon pink suit. We both dashed into Boyes store to avoid being seen with him!!
1st trip to sea, a tanker up the Gulf, a/c broken, Saturday night movie night, all of us in shorts and Tees sweating like crazy, in strolls the 5th Engineer in full Burtons 3 piece wool knit suit. "well you have to dress up for Saturday night movies, don't you" he says.
