Hi Jim,
go to A&E they have to investigate and treat you there and then, Go to your Doctors you have to wait for an appointment and then if you need a hospital appointment then you have to wait again,.
Hope it is not serious.
Cheers
Brian.
A&E can sometimes be quite a long wait- when i fell ill last year with a gall bladder attack,(since removed) I was in so much pain that i told my wife to ring the emergency services. If the situation hadn't been so serious it could have been hilarious as my wife-as distraught as i was- yelled 'what's the number'? Nine F*****g Nine I yelled back. The paramedics arrived very quickly, an assessment vehicle first to determine the level of the emergency, after examining me, called for the hurry-up wagon. Once inside the ambulance i was given morphine (lots of it) and was carted off to Wigan Infirmary where they stabilised me and diagnosed a gall bladder that needed to be removed ASAP. I was seen as soon as i arrived at the hospital- sort of got an upgrade, however, the point of this tale is that it was suggested to me by a member of the paramedic team that if there is any doubt about someones condition, never hesitate, call 999- it is your right to receive treatment from whatever department is available. Even if they don't admit you they have most of the equipment on board to treat or stabilise you, and i reckon they could be more valuable sometimes than being treated at A&E by some overworked and overtired young houseman who can barely understand the Queens English. Be very afraid.

Hi Guys Back after a bad spell of health but ok now the doctor told me to slow down did not mention about the G&T .Anyhow the reason i am sending this post is to tell you guys we alsohave a Pen& Wig pub in Dunedin but OH not like the one in Liverpool in fact its called the Wig & Pen it is a part of the Law Courts Hotel its not far from the police station
Hi Gilly
That happened to me last year, I was on my knees screaming in pain. got nthe ambulance and on gas and air and in A&E on Morphine Injections. and Paracetamol drip.
In there for five hours then sent to the ward. full of Af**** who were screaming out loud from a certain book they were reading all day and night and crapping everywhere like seagulls.
Then the Nurse said, when I asked for my blood pressure tablets.,You are a drug dealer and we do not give medication to drug dealers. she was from another country that eats a certain hot food. [ cant mention nationalities now ].
I got out of there and complained to the CEO in writing and got an apology, in writingand an appointment to see the Consultan who was trained and educated in another eastern colony.
He said you are fine you are OK . I then went to San Diego and sailed, after three days I was doubled up with screaming pain for three days, I got to Honoluilu and got a taxi to the Hospital, They said I had four days to live without medication, straight into bed, xrays, CT SCANS MRI SCANS etc, ECRP, and then a big operation,
My Gall Bladder had turned gangrene and this gave me severe Pancreaititus and Cholicistitus, near Died because of the stupid Bolton Hospital. Very lucky we called in at Honolulu or I would not be here,
Cheers
Brian.
John, did you go to the Pier Head to the service??I logged onto the Liverpool Echo there is a picture and then a 1 minute video. It looked to me as though there was a crowd of about 150 in attendance. The Red Duster and the Norwegian flags in attendance and I believe that there was a prayer in Norwegian,

About right Jim- you were sorely missed, I've posted a few words on here somewhere, hope you're up and about soon.
John
John the same thing happened to me about three years ago and it terrified the life out of me,i realy panicked i did'nt know what was happening so i was in a right state NHS Direct sent an ambulance and I was in hostpital about four days. They were taking my blood about every 6 hours and they were getting a different reading each time. The doctor said he had to get in touch with the lab to see that their equipment was'nt broken.I think it was the white cell should read 8,can go up to 10 mine were 28.I did'nt find out what was wrong with me.The other night when it happened i knew how to handle it,I came dowstairs and was falling around a bit but i kept my head and made a cup of tea which made me empty my stomach down the toilet,a good result. Now its turned into a bad chest infection coughing gives the same pain as when you have done your ribs in.I hope tobe back in action tomorrow I'l be glad to have something to eat,no appetite at the moment.
Regards.
