Nothing much going on John.
Just the usual groupe with nothing better to do than look for something to go on about.

Hi Bill, They were never quite the same.
This one is Manitoba. Ontario is like it with a slightly differant crest.
The old Canadian flag was the same style untill 1967.

Dennis, it is good to show The MANITOBA Flag in all its glory, there are still a lot of Scots. and English families still living here from the days when the English and Scottish regiments were here in the 1800`s.
and thank you for the plug on our DESERT, it is the only true one in Canada. up until this april when i sold it, I had a hotel within 10min. of the park gates. the emblem of the village of Glenboro was a camel. Not many people know that we can travel down the Winnipeg river through to the Lake of The Woods then onwards to the great lakes through the locks and out to the atlantic. I should mention that for the first part, its only for the smaller boats. if you are ever this way give me a call.

ps.... you will be pleased to know that the sun is shining and the tempreture has gone right up to -15 today, it`s just like summer!!!!!
Happy daze John in Oz, not sure that is correct I thought it was by referendum & flag competition? It was certainly contentious mostly I thought by the French natives? Do you mean conflicted with Aus flag...? Still one hell of a beautiful country with a lot of nice people in it & unlike us they keep a low profile too, wonder why?
The new flag was introduced Centennial year 1967. The year we came to Canada.[thought all the celebrations were for us]
Trudeau was the PM, so as a rule what he wanted he got.
Don't believe that it had anything to do with the Red Duster. If so why didn't Manitoba and Ontario not change too?

Hi shipmates, Are you on about the big fast water lifts and all the tourist who take your photos? and sometimes throw money at you? and all the overtime time you get payed by the shipping company, good runs ashore to buy jeans and nice American high school girls. "Groundhogs" will bite you" in Canada.
The 11/12 years I worked on Australian managed ships every order I put in for an Australian red ensign they used to send the blue national flag so just flew this. Dont know if there was a shortage of such red ensigns. Yet have seen a lot of small pleasure craft and such flying the red version. Cheers John Sabourn
