CO=OP Share number
177266 a six digit number.Even if you bought a penny oxo it was recorded.It must've employed some people that system when you think about it,no computers then.Was the "Divi" as we knew it paid twice a year.I know I used to go on the tram to Byrom Street by the Mersey tunnel and to Blair Hall in Walton to pick up my mothers "Divi" armed with a note on a sugar bag or whatever scrap of paper that was to hand and the words written on it "Please pay bearer".

I remember my Mother had a CO-OP number. Can't remember what it was though. Can't afford CO-OP these days,the prices they charge. Seem to think they are John Lewis.

Funny next remembered numbers were RMB and Discharge book which must be imprinted on the old brain box, also though can quote my national insurance number. Yet today asked my wife what we did two days ago for my diary........Such an exciting life we lead here in deepest France
