I think we all have different ideas about the NHS in the UK. Over the last 6 years I have visited the Queen Elizabeth hospital in Birmingham 2-3 times a month and never encountered any problem whatsoever, my problem caused me to have a liver transplant.

Gorden, At present the N.H.S. is holding up as it has for the last 69 years When health secretary Aneurin Bevan launched the NHS at Park Hospital in Manchester (today known as Trafford General Hospital), it is the climax of a hugely ambitious plan to bring good healthcare to all. For the first time, hospitals, doctors, nurses, pharmacists, opticians and dentists are brought together under one umbrella organisation to provide services that are free for all at the point of delivery. But can you see our kids and grand kids enjoying the same as we have for the next 70 years. This isn't a political football i am kicking around its the fact that the same N.H.S. Is failing to attract the same recruitment that we have all enjoyed. And nursing staff and key figures that have been there for us are being driven away from the profession you dont have to be a intellectual genius to watch and listen to the news reports that are fact not fiction, If things arn,t changed for the better in the next couple of years the N.H.S. Will be no more. Is that what we want for are off springs or is it that we let them down and add more gloom to there lives in the future.

`Terry, what is bugging you about the NHS?? They are fantastic, Just been in Salford Royal Hospital again most of the day for Cardiac tests.
They are now spending TWO HUNDRED MILLION POUNDS ON IMPROVEMENTS,
I have had nothing but the very best treatment , They saved my life twice last year from Cancer, Now treating me for Cardiac Problems.
That would cost me a Million Pounds in the States, so why are you complaining. ?????? Have you had a Bad experience from them???
All I ever hear about the NHS is whinging and whining, Just be thankful and grateful that we have an NHS I have never ever had one single problem with the NHS , Both for appointments and Treatments. They are Superb,
and don't tell me what Nurses get and have to go to Food Banks, that was a load of left wing, commie Pinko rubbish put out by Corbyn, that Nuirse was a District Nurse collecting for one of her patients and some one saw her uniform, FACT.
My son is a Consultant, my Sister is a Nursing Officer and her daughter is a Cardiac Specialist Nurse , so I do get a lot of information from them and also my own experiences,
Excellent Service, So if they are spending an Extra TWO HUNDRED MILLION POUNDS on one hospital what is the problem??

Our main hospital this way, have announced a new park and ride service, park free, buses every 20 minute in to University College hospital £1 for staff and £2 for visitors. MAY HELP A LOT FOR MANY.

Brian, You are one of the fortunate ones, And i wish you well with your health problems. I dont whinge or complain as you put it i simply want to have the same N.H.S. To pass onto my offspring's, Yes i have heard and witnessed some horror story's and if you troll the net you will find a few of them yourself. I have a personal battle on my hands at the moment as a direct results of the cuts to the N.H.S. Regarding my 12 year old Asperger grandson but that,s mine and my daughters battle not one for the forum. Mental health never seems to be entered into the kitty here unless you experience it first hand. So i prefer to leave it at that. Very best regards Terry.

Terry you are correct about the lack of persons going into the medical profession, and it is not just the UK in this situation.
Here in Oz similar situation where they number of new recruits to the industry only just keep pace with retirements.
So no additional staff to cope with increase in population.
