.Hi Rodney, re: the piano at the entrance of the hospital,
When my son was a Liver Consultant at the Scripps Institute in La Jolla in San Diego he told me that when a new Patient arrives in a car to the door, a Concierge takes the car away to park it, and when they enter the Hospital a small string band plays soothing music.
Of course Scripps is a very expensive place to be in.
He won the American Liver Foundation Award for his work there, which is unusual for an Englishman to win it over the other American Doctors.
one of the reasons he is well known over there.
PS
I saw that poster that Keith posted, and thought it was Disgraceful.
Cheers
Brian
To date when needed, thankfully rarely, I have received nothing but excellent treatment from the NHS so at this stage in my life have no complaints, and when I have visited less fortunate friends in hospital I have seen nothing but kindness, unlike a certain hospice in which my late wife lay dying, and a nurse said (not realising I was there) 'I wish she would hurry up and go, we need the bed' The lumpsum I was going to give to the hospice went to the local hospital instead

The poster was in relation to my post # and was just an observation, nothing else meant.
I have always backed our NHS and the service the staff give.
I think the adverse was regarding NHS in Wales conducting everything in Welsh, which is nonsense. As with pilots the International language / business is English.

Re.Post 1.Magnificent description of the facilities ,care and attention received.
The disturbing factor being .How many Seniors in America, could possibly afford , such Insurance charges?
Thus ended a trip to the hospital. Both the patient and I are senior citizens, U.S. Medicare is our primary coverage for which a senior pays one hundred dollars a month out of a monthly pension for 80% coverage, the remaining 20% is covered by a supplemental insurance policy @ $420.00 a month, the patients was roughly the same.
It does appear from what i was told and saw in the Baltic states that they put health care high up the list.
Yes the VAT is high there but the locals are quite happy to pay for good reliable treatment.
Problem with UK is sheer volume of patients and this will only get worse.
News item this morning about Trump and his wall at the border!!!! Thousands of Americans are travelling to Mexico for dental treatment a procedure in the USA costs $2000 the same procedure in Mexico costs $400.
I never met a poor dentist.
Keith, do not wish to get into a pishing contest, but you never said what number post it was in reference to...not in my humble opinion would that make me change my mind that you took a shot at my country without backup, a totally untasteful post without IMHO any redeemable qualities. Drop that sh%t please and keep to your interesting posts.
Again thanks for todays post re "Queen," I've added it to my list of favorites.
If its just an observation, why post it?
