The Monarch is advised by Downing Street. I feel that the late Queen held off as long as she could before she took a sword to Mr Blair.

I give him credit for the Good Friday Agreement although history shows that was not completed or implemented properly. No protection given to our Military.

    Otherwise......
    * 2 Wars.
    * Uk broken up with separate Parliaments
    * Selling of gold reserves. Yes, it was Gordon Browne, but he could not have done it alone
    * Made Polytechnics into Universities when they were functioning well enough without being meddled with
    * 50% should go to University." As a teacher of Special Needs that was completely bonkers.

For what it's worth I think that the serving Prime Minister should acknowledge the service of their Cabinet Colleagues, Civil Servants, etc (some of whom only stay a short time) A Medal of Service for the recipients' time in Office . Name, date, anything else . Something to hang on a wall. This to be at the PERSONAL EXP[ENSE of the serving Prime Minister. That should focus the mind !

All selections come through Downing Street or have to be recommended Tony , don’t let anyone tell you any different , Fortuanetly some of the older orders have tighter restrictions on them . As regards Bliar he is a good advertisement for birds who flock together. You have to think and act like he does or should I say prance. JS

#59 when the vote was taken vic one paper reported that a reporter had been told by an mp that Bliar was acting like a school boy and boasting we are going to war. Newspaper reports as such I decry but in his case there may of been some truth in it. JS

So why would a Conservative downing street nominate Tony Blair for a Knighthood and tell the Queen to do so!!!! I still maintain the Queen made that decision herself. He saved the monachy by getting the Queen to return to the Capital to mourn the death of the Princess of Wales. People were angry at her staying put in Balmoral.

Why would Blair rejoice that we were going to war, utter bollock!!! perhaps that was in the Sun Newspaper.

Britain lost a lot of young lives on a whim, anyone making that decision and afterwards found out should have been jailed for life. Blair was a blot on the British sense of fair play and honour, he should NEVER have received that honour.

Perhaps this has been explained if so I am not aware of it. The decision to go to war with Iraq was taken after the attacks on the World Trade Centre known as 9/11.
The people who planned and carried out the attacks were mostly Saudi nationals, Iraq had no part in this so why was it decimated by warfare?

Iraq invaded Kuwait in 1990, Saddam was removed in the 2003 war.

So if the 2003 war was so wrong (perhaps it was ) why did 30 countries take part against Iraq.
The two countries relied heavily on the claims of two Iraqi defectors - a chemical engineer called Rafid Ahmed Alwan al-Janabi and an intelligence officer called Maj Muhammad Harith - who said they had first-hand knowledge of Iraq's WMD programme.

Both men later said they had fabricated their evidence because they wanted the allies to invade and oust Saddam.

British history is littered with major cock ups on going to war on a whim.
We have always been a warmongering nation, we are ranked 3rd in the world , US 1st what a surprise , Rwanda 2nd and then the UK, not sure were Russia fit in there since Putin came to power Russia are the bad guys at the moment?
