Sliced bread

#34 know a bit about the sausage sizzle and Bunnings John . We used to heve it for four weeks to raise money for Charity. Fortuanetly Bunnings do not charge for the use of their premises and equipment or the profit margin would be very slim. After buying mustard / sauces / and other condiments apart from the sausages themselfs as cheap as possible , and have 4 volunteers to do all the hard work , the profit for 4 saturdays was well under and closer to $1000 than $1500 . Being a charitable organization however gave us a bit of comfort as knew it would be accepted by the receiver with many thanks.I know this from experience as was one of the volunteers apart from also being the treasurer of the organisation. For those non Australians snags is the usual name for the bangers.,JS……

Down at Bunnings this morning and there was one going.
Prices are a bit high now, $3.50 for one snag in a slice, sauce extra!!!!!

That may of been a private entrepreneur John , don’t think it would be Bunnings themselves , if it was then maybe to cut even having the wages to pay for the persons running it wouldn’t be feasible. It’s usual to put a sign up what it’s for. As I said Bunnings over here were very good and gave us the tent and all the gear to go with it on loan, only thing was we had to carry and set up ourselves in the forecourt outside the shop itself. We also sold the coke and soft drinks as well. No alcohol mores the pity. JS
