#50 makes me think of the tv series Dallas. Preferred Peyton Place myself. JS

Re: The Fat Lady has sung
Sorry Johno.
One is limited by the constitution to two four year terms. Obama has already had is two four year terms.
The law though does not state that they have to be consecutive, therefore Trump having only served one four year term can run again and win another term. This has been done once before by President Grover Cleavland. He was the 22nd and 24th US president and a democrat. His first term was from 1885-1889, he lost the next election and was again president 1893-1897.
Cheers, Rodders

Re: The Fat Lady has sung
JS. John, I never watched either one of them (Dallas or Peyton Place), but if they contained sexual scandals, this four year mini series has it's fair share. There are two law suites awaiting in New York to come to trial from women and two others waiting for court dates. Alleging Trump sexually molested them, plus a defamation case by a woman.
Trump cannot pardon himself in these cases as they are under state law, not federal. He has to answer in court.
That's just the women.
The State of New York has been investigating the payment of illegal hush money by the Trump organization and have now broaden there investigations in Bank, Tax and insurance fraud and the falsification of business records. "And the beat goes on...yeah the beat goes on."
Cheers, Rodney

Re: The Fat Lady has sung
#55.. A few years ago here in Australia , The Australian Wheat Board was accused of paying dash money to members of Saddam Husseins government, including in all probability to Saddam himself. To the general public this would have appeared abhorrent, to people who are in business especially with middle east countries this will have been normal business procedure to get things moving. As I said in a previous post nothing surprises me anymore after having to pay immigration money for leaving Iran in the time of the Shahs disposal. Someone else paid I refused , if that someone hadnt I no doubt would still be in gaol. There are misuses of general funds even at these big foreign ministers get togethers, even just on the fiddling of expenses. To say otherwise must show how naive people are. As to sex cases they have to be proved it takes two to tango. Anyone with heaps of money is a legitimate target to a lot of women, otherwise a lot of us would be facing the same accusations. JS

Hi John.
It isn't only private companies who take and receive bribes as you know, our own wonder-bar Govt has paid Sky Channel $14 million for what? they are a private pay for TV, they get their money from subscribers.

Re: The Fat Lady has sung
When you get into the realms of politics Des I just shut my ears if possible. I have yet to hear anything from any politician that I could honestly believe. I believe on voting on past results only. People only believe what they want to believe , and it is one huge field day for the media who in the past the masses have believed as kosher. They are just as bad if not worse than the pollies themselves. JS
I not too long back asked a new member to a group I'm in, who was in his last year at University, what he was going to do when he finished there , he said I am joining the XXXXXXX party, when I asked him why politics his reply was it is well paid and has a good pension. I would imagine today that is the general attitude of all those new to the fold. Nothing about wanting to achieve better living conditions and standards for the people they are supposed to serve. Only self serving agendas of their own welfare. It is only a job with a good pension at the end, thats as far as they see. A job not a vocation. Perks anyone should be able to work that one out for themselves. JS

Re: The Fat Lady has sung
Rodders mate you may be reading my post wrong.
I know they can only serve two terms.
the comment was aimed at Obama being behind the lines as an advisor to Biden, but Obama getting his concepts into place via Biden.
Some saying Obama in a white skin.
From what we see here on TV Obama is the only ex president giving opinions.

Happy daze John in Oz.

I think Biden will do only good for the Country and
people unlike the former President that is still trying
to obstruct all progress.

Re: The Fat Lady has sung
In politics, business , the entertainment world and many others yes men and women attach themselves to the rich and powerful. While the person remains rich and powerful they can enjoy all the trappings and financial gains that come with the job. Once they see their benefactors fortunes changing their loyalty ends, reputations and self preservation kicks in. "I was only following orders".
Expect more newspaper articles and books as Trump sinks below the waves.
