Every home needs a geeky 17 year old Thomas!!!

Anyone recall or own the old Volvo Sports , a friend of mine had one when i was on the Gold Mines in South Africa, gee it was a terrific Car in those days, and pretty fast too.
Had the MPH Indicator on the old Sliding scale type on the dash, Used to travel and drive it at times when we went from Glen Harmony to Kroondtad to visit the Ladies thee ! Lol

If it cannot be fixed with gaffer tape or a hammer then it will be an electrical problem

I read today that the UK gov are going to announce , 10 years earlier than planned, a ban on all petrol and diesel cars, including hybrids , by 2030. So that will do the car industry right now , the world of good, who's going to buy new cars other than electric ?. The bottom has dropped out of diesel cars, due to the banning in some city centres, and more planned. They will have to get their finger out to be able to supply enough electricity via chargers in that time. Hydrogen cars could be the way forward, but a lot to do on the safety side for that. So because of that news, my 2001 petrol Subaru outback has had the second hand value decimated from £200, down to £100, what a blow, kt

As far as I understand it all manufacturers have to cease production of internal combustion engines by 2030, so far nobody has said how long diesel/petrol will be available at the pumps after this date, and if it is an immediate cessation of fuel supply who will remove all the vehicles stranded at the roadsides in 2030. 9 years is a very short time window to change the driving habits of over 30 million car owners, never mind commercial vehicles. At the moment from entering a Service Station I can be in and out within 5/7 minutes having fully refueled and not holding anyone up at all. Think of a Motorway with all the vehicles passing through a Service Station requiring refueling a fuel top up of 1 to 2 hours to give them an additional 60 -100 miles of travel. My journey from Torquay to Whitby is going to take one hell of a long time.

Have any of these car haters thought about the ramifications of relying upon one fuel source supply, all it requires is one hacker, home grown or foreign, to hack into power stations to cripple a major portion, if not all, private and commercial transport throughout the country with all its subsequent consequences for both home and commercial heating and refrigeration of food and medical goods

The way it read, and i heard on Radio 4 , was 2030, they will not manufacture all, diesel, petrol and hybrids , so i won't be buying a new car anytime soon, and at 80 years of age, i won't be driving by 2030, except a nice pair of wings !!cos i,ve been a good boy down here on earth, lol, kt

in the same vein i guess .....just got my car insurance ......up 80 quid on last year got on the blower got 24 quid off same every year they come on automatic renewal ......then ring them and get money off but stil lpay increased premium on the year before 80 percent no claims.....like you keith wont be driving by then ....just swinging low in my chariot.cappy..lol..ps whats the insurance on chariots
