BBC To means test over 75 yr olds free t.v.licsence

We live in a world that is dominated by those with wealth, they in turn top this wealth by generating huge profit orientated companies, all governments fully assist them. When employed by such companies it is human nature to accept increases for doing that which is expected. Some times it can be embarrassing but if offered a "Jolly" most accept whether morally they think it "just" or not along with their increase in salary. On the other hand a lot have worked exceedingly hard for what they have aquired. It all comes down to what can be afforded but very often those that do "real work" receive a pittance with little or no recognition. This inequality has been there since the "dark ages" I don't think for one minute it will ever change. Remember running a project a new line which involved a great deal of alteration and new installation of machinery / equipment. Some of the work force volunteered to help in all ways to save the company money, which was hugely successful. On completion senior management awarded themslves a "Jolly" I felt was morally wrong as the workforce involved received "Zilch" I did not attend after saying how I felt about it and was never forgiven by some. Summary is how much people are payed, for what and morally is it affordable? The B.B.C. need to look at this and consider paying huge salaries for little gain, they have become akin to the council tax and beleive all this wastage can be covered by increases to the customer.

The woman recently sacked from the ABC was on 900,000 dollars a year, and is now going to sue for unfair dismissal. Shes lucky she can afford it , a proper worker couldn’t afford it. JS

I never watch bbc, so why should i have to pay for it.

Our ABC which is a copy of your BBC do not have adds, only for coming programs, most of which are crap. If they tried to bring in a license it would collapse overnight

The problem with the commercial stations here is that you can sit down to watch the adds but they keep interrupting them with bits of a program, very often in very small bits.

Our smart TV's and most service providers allow here to
miss the adds while making a cuppa.

There is no need anymore to actually watch the adds.

Des there was a time when we did have them here, but the country being the size it is made it almost impossible to police who paid and who did not so they dropped it.

In history via radio and then TV.

The Beeb was worth every penny, just seems not so much now.

The BBC, like the MN and King Arthur - the once and future King,
may be needed again.
