A blast from the past Duke!
Welcome back and now find a permanent Berth here please! LOL;)
Cheers
Hey Jim,
I’m doing just fine and still working at the rigging game, can’t let go of those ropes.
I’ve popped in for a wee look now and then but you knew why I paid off from the site a long time ago. I hope, as you say, it has changed but I still see a couple of characters who’s post irritate me so I remain a distant onlooker.
I chew the fat about politics in the US with Roger now and then by email, gotta get the frustration off my chest and he manages to massage/articulate the vile into something I can live with. I can’t wait for the movie to get made.
Anyway, I admire your resilience mate, stick with it and I will definitely see you at the Liver Building in the not too distant future. I still manage to get home every year. I look forward to it.
Duke.
Most Welcome Duke you are one of the oldies (no not age wise LOL and therefore part of the Family as we say !
Always good to know that some of the older ones do still at least look in Duke!
Cheers and keep Well.
Duke, being a member is like being at sea some time in your life, it never leaves you.
Shaun, your sentiment is similar to many of us on here, many who have posted similar feelings.
But for some reason there are those who consider 'having a go' at another member is fine when in fact it is often a direct insult.
Most of the non sea persons as Rob said do put in some good pieces and there are many who have been helped by members.
Then there is the one who just posts for the sake of it, but who knows why?
I always think when you get somebody with great dissent as you used to have at sea and they were leaning over the rails how easy it would be to pick them up by the ankles and flip them into the stern prop wash . Good sense always prevail though in the end and very few went out of shark food so I look on it as being the same here there's a few that you could actually toss happily into the wake but you don't you just learn the bide your time and move on to the next thread .
