It would appear the reflux tablets no longer work.
The sub it has been said may well have exploded as sounds from depths indicate such.
According to reports the sub undergoing a refit in 2015 was cut in half to accommodate some new equipment ans there is concern that this may have been part of the reason for the reported explosion of the sub.

Re: missing sub
two hydro-acoustic stations picked up these explosions on November 15th , why did it take seven days to. release the information . there were 4 submarines sunk in 1969 , Israeli , French , Russian , ad American . Stories about battery explosions are despite one case in 1949 ' dismissed , serious instantaneous battery failure happens to lead acid batteries on immersion in sea water

Re: missing sub
#51. Bill from my own knowledge as regards listening devices on the bottom it was carried on continuously off the coast of your own country on the approaches to the Clyde for nearly the 4 years, and probably long before and after I was elsewhere. It was a frequent task we had of retrieving. They were more than likely laid by Soviet fishing vessels, there used to be one stationed there nearly all the time in International waters. The minehunters would find and we would recover. Have no doubt we did the same on the approaches to Murmansk as that was / is a big submarine base. It was common knowledge in naval circles. The info. gained by the devices were the initial course the nukes started off at, and to get a noise recording of their propellers for identification purposes. This was how the Soviet corresponding torpedos of the stingray torpedo acquired it’s target. I am not too sure how far the Belgrano was away from the sub which sank her, but according to the media it was a wired torpedo and not a stingray. That’s one of the stupid things about having ships built abroad all this information will be made public and is like handing it to them on a plate. No doubt today they have stuff top secret such as noise mufflers and alteration of the noise put out. Anyone advocating having ships being built abroad such as Australia are nutters to me.There is every chance such devises are elsewhere in the world but to get anyone to admit to will never happen. Re: missing sub
i n an interview at the time the commander ( Chris Wreford Brown ) of HMS Conqueror which had both Mark 8 and tigerfish torpedoes , in an interview states the tigerfish was more than 10x the price of the mark 8 , and the mark 8 was a WWII design , and so was Belgrano it was t he best weapon to use

Re: missing sub
Not knowing too much on this as many I have just heard that the Implosion/Explosion could well have been caused by the Sub going too deep for what she was Built for.??
But that's all I can add!

Re: missing sub
I think there should be some type of recovery if possible to not only recover the seamen but try to find out exactly what happened do they have like some sort of black box on board? will they check all their subs in the fleet ?? questions should be answered safety first I for one would not like to be a submariner in their navy? jp

In any Navy for that matter I love the Sea and the Ships sailed on but Subs ! No way Hosay! I have been aboard a few in my time and its so cramped I wondered how the poor Chaps managed at all!
My Hat off to all who serve on them!

Re: missing sub
there are only two built in this class, the bow and stern sections are " light weight " , entered service 1985, refit 2008 - 2013 , cut in two , new engines and batteries fittedat an Argentinian yard and then welded back together , refit had economic difficulties , diving depth 300 m .the ocean depth can easily be 4,000 m the pressure can be 500 ATM that is 7000 psi over 3 ton per square inch
