    Default Electric cars

Just been listening to the future plans to stop manufacture of petrol and diesel cars, obviously very good for pollution, and indeed health, my question is where does the government go for the lost revenue which is HUGE, as we all know, its not just vat on fuel but other taxes as well, very little of one litre of petrol is actual cost, mainly tax. One hell of a lot of money to hunt by introducing new taxes, kt

A petroleum-electric hybrid most commonly uses internal combustion engines (using a variety of fuels, generally gasoline or Diesel engines) and electric motors to power the vehicle. The energy is stored in the fuel of the internal combustion engine and an electric battery set.

Seems the best way forward initially, anyone know when driving on gas, does the dynamo charge the batteries ?

The way forward is the hydrogen fuel cell. No pollution, what comes out the exhaust is only water.
No need for big power stations, digging p roads to lay cables etc.

Fuel cell technology is advancing quite fast.
They are used in space craft.
Spainsh Navy have two fuel cell powered submarines.
Reading town centre has been power with fuelcellsfor year.
Canada has fuel cell powered buses.

BMW have a car now running on a hydrogen fuel cell, nearly 15 years ago we had a hydrogen fuel cell on trial on the British Merchant. It was a a big lump of a thing, it was generating enough power to run a domestic sized fridge/freezer.
All the oil majors are involved in research for clean fuel. Do you get the Esso/Exxon advert on TV (UK) about trying to turn algae into a clean fuel.
Great idea about trying to reduce emissions from road traffic but what about lorries & diesel engined Bus & Black taxis ??biggest air Pollution offenders on the roads and inner city.

In my opinion there is no way that oil majors will let ANY government ban the us of fossile fuels, that is until they are ready to let them do so,
