Re: George osborne
John last season Manchester United spent £89.25 million on a player called Paul Pogba. This is his second spell at Manchester United . They sold him a few years before to Juventus for £2.8 million and as said have bought him back again from the same club. It is clubs like Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea who have a bottomless pit of money who are going to completely kill football. There is a rule that a club can only spend in the transfer market a % of there possible revenue generated by ticket sales and merchandising sales, corparite earnings. The 3 mentioned clubs spend over and above these incomes so UEFA then fine them for rule infringement. It is no longer a level playing field for the less wealthy clubs. Football/Sports agents are as low down on the food chain as politicians or lawyers in my book.

Re: George osborne
Cappy re ; £70/£80 to watch a game of football what that amounts to is half a days pay,London clubs could be charging around that but then again the people going the game there can afford that kind of money.Around here could be around £40 most guys working on at least £10.00 per hour. The figure I quoted come from the Mail.

Re: George osborne
A bit of selective mathematics going on methinks, tickets available at £12 on the day for tennis at Wimbledon
what would a box cost per person at a football final for one day, the Wimbledon £23,000 for 14 days was for free parking, drinks, lunches plus other benefits equates to £1600 per day
As am not interested in either sport have no real interest, it was just the mathematics quoted that interested me

Re: George osborne
If ticket pricing for Wimbledon is any thing like here in Melbourne for the open then iot can get very expensive.
First week for small name players is reasonably cheap, but as the top ones move forwrd so does the prcie to see them.
Final few days only the very dedicated or very rich can afgford to go.
I have been lucky as one of our suppliers took us to the finals every year, but now retired I only watch on TV.

I do not begrudge what people earn, good luck to them.
I blame the idiots who are prepared to pay them these
exorbitant wages.
