Re: Changing times
The second part of that documentary was on last night, some of the content was disturbing to say the least.
It is all around the London borough of Newham.
According to latest figures there are only 2 white British born kids in each school class room. Newham has the lowest number of British Born white of any borough in UK.
There were at one time somewhere in the order of 300 pubs in the borough, now only a handful. As one man said, 'those people do not drink'.
Shot of passengers on a bus, the bus was full only two white persons on there.
I am well aware that UK is changing but this for me was a real shock and eye opener, how did it ever come to this?
How many more cities are undergoing such radical change?
The borough is fast on the way to becoming an enclave of non English speaking person from who knows where.

Re: Changing times
And the frightening part is that it is only going to get worse ,because there are too many people in high places who don't live in the real world ,they see no bad in anyone all they think of is " doing the right thing" even to the detriment of their own people , what they are doing borders on tyranny ,they think history will look down on them with favour , a young fellow thirtyish said to me recently ," I envy your generation" when I asked him why ,he said , " because you had the best music the best cars and you saw England win the world cup !I said you left one thing out ,a predominantly indigenous population ,sounds like Shangri LA now doesn't it (I chose those words carefully, not the actual ones.Beware the minority. Re: Changing times
Joe with all the Political tripe and hogwash that has gone under the bridge in the last 60 years or so, have also gone our sense of morals which are totally different today than what we knew and lived by. There seems no end today to the perfidities of man. Watched Obama last night at the United Nations, he is in the wrong profession, he would have an armful of Oscars by now if had chosen differently. A politician today has to look good, act in what is conceived to the benefit of mankind, and be able to stir peoples emotions. Hitler had all those character assessments. The United Nations does not nor never will in our lifetime encompass every country in the world. It is a police force armed with truncheons. Communications today are that easy where someone with a mobile can show within minutes a street scuffle which is picked up and appears as mutiny in that part of the world to outsiders. I was brought up the few years after the last war on a new council estate, people were that pleased with what they had. Doors were never locked and the estates community lived in harmony. Today would be unthinkable to leave your door open. The crime is prevalent. The population of the estate is now 75 per cent alien. There are very few of the old inhabitants still there, the days of the honest British navvy is long gone it appears, with him went all our morals of yesteryear. The recent bombings and killing of the food convoy in Syria would I bet as said in a previous post, be in retaliation to the killing supposedly mistakenly of 80 Syrian soldiers by US intelligence. Lets hope that is the end of tit for tat, to me Obamas speech at the UN should of not been so aggressive and also the commentators should take a lesson of at least trying to be neutral and not only air one side and cast aspersions on the other. This is how real wars are started. As we all know it is politicians with big mouths who usually start. The wests participation in the conflicts were partially started by the ignorance of people we put in the seat of power so we are also partly to blame by putting them in and giving them that power, I would cut back on whatever power they have. They were only too willing to put the British people under a foreign power in the farce called the EU. Cheers JWS

Re: Changing times
Hi John.
Don't be to sure that the bombing of those supplies in Syria was of Russian or Syrian origin, it may have been friendly fire to take the news of the American's stuff up killing those Syrian troops.
As for refugees! where the hell did these refugees we are supposed to be taking from South America come from all of a sudden? There has been infighting down there since before Australia was discovered, first time I have heard of the people wanting to escape, other than Mexicans; now all of a sudden there is a refugee crisis there.
Cheers Des

Re: Changing times
Watching news today from USA make sme realise the world is on the way to hell in a hand basket.
Another Black man shot dead by police and riots following by the local Black community.
If black and white, who have been together for a couple of centuries, now, in a modern cannot live in peace how can any nation expect people from an alien nation to mix in with people who have for generations lived there?

Re: Changing times
The US is not only at war with most of the world it is also at war with itself.
Anne and I were walking down a street from a restaurant to our hotel in That place where the London Bridge was rebuilt, Lake Havasu City, in Arizona, only a 150 yard walk , a pick up truck came along side and shouted, "Get off the street , they shoot old folks round here."
It was dark and scary.
