Re: Bastille Day Tragedy
Rob #58, here in Oz it was the parctice of many men to go to countries such as Thailand for one of two purposes.
One to get a wife who would become little more than a slave. The gov stepped in and now if they marry in Thailand they must stay there for three years before the wife will be allowed into Oz. Before they could come in as soon as married. they married in Thailand as if they wish to marry in Oz she would have up to two years to wait for immigration.
Two to get it off with young kids, some as young as four. Gov started to put out feelers and spies. Now any single man wishing to go there must prove it is for legitimate purposes.

Re: Bastille Day Tragedy
They are breaking British law Brian, and nothing is done about it. Shows how purely ineffective one is against any so called religion. The knowledge that one can have religious beliefs does not in my mind say, that the laws governing such can be practiced against the rule of the land. The first British Majistrate who passed the law that a Sikjh was allowed to not wear a motor bike safety helmet was the start of British law failure the rag head had two choices sell his bike, or change the towel, the choice should have been his. Hi John
SHARIAH LAW is allowed in this country now, it was reported that we have over 40 recognised legal Shariah Courts here in UK, also every mosk has one.
They claim benefits for all four wives as well, One man in the Post Office after collecting several hundreds of pounds boasted that he had three wives and 20 children, if you don't like it then convert to Is lam and you will get same benefit.
That is what our Pollies have got us into .

Re: Bastille Day Tragedy
brian now hopefully that we are throwing the shackles of Europe off may be we can grow a set and make some of our own laws again without being told what we can and can't do it is wrong that claims can be made for more than one wife here in the united kingdom squandering taxpayers hard earned money for the sake of a religion that is not ours and hopefully never will be unless something is done? when we are told to tighten our belts and yet having the urine taken out of us otherwise the race card will come out?? jp

Re: Bastille Day Tragedy
Now they're out of Europe does that mean that the British government will let us have four wives each . If so I demand a referendum recount

Re: Bastille Day Tragedy
Hi John P.
Don't assume that your politicians will change or the judicial system because you are out of Europe, Australia was never in it and yet we have idiots not only in charge but in the judicial system. We have a terrorist who was sentenced to four years jail for assaulting a policeman during a demonstration, his brother and cousin were both killed after leaving here and going to fight for Isis, he was up for parole but the parole board refused to release him so he took them, with the aid of the taxpayer to the Supreme Court where a judge overruled the parole board and set him free with these words, Mr Elomar might be a danger to society and I hope that the police and the people who watch these people make sure that he doesn't re-offend, but the law is the law. What a Wan%r, we have for the last twelve months been having a Coroners court about what happened in the Lint cafe after Man Monis killed two people and he was supposed to have been monitored.
Cheers Des

Re: Bastille Day Tragedy
Well Oz has hit the big time with terrorists now.
Today it was announced that we are equal third with UK, behind USA ad France as targets for terrorists.
The reason, we have stood our ground and taken them on in Middle East, but also have deported a few and stopped a few from going overseas on jihad.
So if you do not want to become threatened by them just sit back and do nothing while they rape and murder in other countries.

Re: Bastille Day Tragedy
#62... If as Brian says that Shariah law is used and accepted in Britain, then it is time to throw the towel in. That is an utter disgrace and the judiciary that stood back and watched it happen might as well resign now as they have no future in any case, might as well start saving taxpayer money now. JWS

Re: Bastille Day Tragedy
When it comes to the actual fact despite the belief that there are over 100 Sharia law courts in the United Kingdom they are outside the remit of the British legal system judgements handed down have no legal basis at all . The problem is that the community where these are stay away from our indigenous legal system because they are asking for judgement which obviously suit them better . It is no more legal then asking the corner shop keeper at the end of the road for his opinion of what you should do in a dispute . I say that the media and UKIP keep getting fired up over it . The big concern and that was stated by Teresa May is that Sharia law operates in a way that discriminate against women and is counter to what the single rule of law is that we have in the UK . There is one rule of law in the UK and it isn't that one but they have got a enquiry going on led by Professor Mona Siddiqui to look at the operation and whether it is discriminatory and counted to the rule of law . They are only they're resolving family financial and commercial problems but the majority of cases involve women who are trying to end their Islamic marriage . All of this can be dealt with by our courts but for whatever reason they plaintiffs take the local neighbourhood option

Re: Bastille Day Tragedy
Another case of terrorism in London in Russel Square where one killed and four severely injured.
Police say it was not a terrorist but a man with mental issues.
Sorry but any such action is terrorism no matter how they may like to dress it up.
