Les the only thing going for Great Britain re political fiascos is the fact that they have a permanent head of state, it may be in name only but gives that little bit of morality that one doesn't get with having to go out and find some shyster. With the loss of power of the Westminster system maybe on the 23 July this will all start to crumble and will be lost forever. It is now in the hands of others, they will at least know they were responsible on whatever outcome. JS
Agree with you there mate and not only the July choice about the EU. We to have the July 2 election coming up to choose whether we elect twiddle dee or twiddle dum. Somehow I think that those that think about their vote might be shifting to the independents I know that for the senate I am looking at them and only going to see who has the smallest penis for the lower house in our area so that I do not have to purchase so much vasaline while smiling for my country. Mind you if there is a female on the ticket will be checking out what size dildo she has in the locker.
Maybe, just maybe Trump is what the world need sjust now, along with a few others of his ilk to bring the world back to some form of normality.
There is so much corruption in politics now that the public no longer know right from wrong. The public get regularly screwed no matter who is in power, taxed to within an inch of their life and the polis then tell us what a fantastic job they are doing.
Just had the state budget handed down, the Labor gov is going to spend money in telephone numbers and then produce a surplus? Problem is that with only four years and almost a revolving door of gov there could be half a dozen govs before any project is done.
London has built an additional 117 klm of underground including a 42 klm tunnel. All done in about 5.5 years with 3.5 for the tunnel. Our brilliant state gov is going to build a 9 klm tunnel across Melbourne and the first train will run in 2026! That if the unions do not do what they usually do here in Victoria then it will be 2126.
The way I read US politics and am not a great follower of any political party. You have two party's republican and democrat. What either stands for I would not have a clue. However the voting system as it appears to me is that a lot of money has to be spent to get anywhere. If you don't have then like most things you have to have a sponsor to provide and this is where the lobbyists come in I would imagine they are all from the right arm of big industry and require a government which is gping to cede to their wants during its term of office. Therefore whoever gets office and is beholden to such is taken up station with one arm tied already. By all accounts Hillary Clinton is not averse to having her path smoothed out by the Tycoons, whereas as Trump is already a tycoon and can afford to go on his own way as a loose cannon as no one in industry will have a choke lead on him. I personally would take the gamble and go with Trump. After all there is no on else who has such a large part of the Republican vote, this is the nearest one is going to get to a Democracy in America, the land of the almighty dollar. JS

I think if Trump were to become president the world would become a very dangerous one, we would have two powerful world leaders, Putin and Trump with huge egos, both big bully boys, used to getting their own way, by whatever means. #76 NATO has been over ruled many times John . That's one of the reasons we have a cauldron in the Middle East today, and those in Europe who at the start of the influx of so called refugees did not have the brains to handle, it was a situation which most people expected. The people of Russia China and North Korea look on the leaders of the west exactly the same as we look at them. The leader of NK making no bones about it. What one reads about the worlds feelings is not always correct, and we usually leave that up to our diplomats to put right. However when one sees some of their answers to situations which don't appear correct, that's when people get fidgety.cheers js
Not only NATO but UN as well. If Trump comes up trumps hwo will Russia and the other members of the security council cope? Currently any one of them can veto any decission or concept they do not like. Maybe a good thing at times but can also be self defeating as well.
But the process in USA shows that it is not the best person who becomes president, rather the one with the most money and influence where it counts.

The concept of the UN would be ideal if every country was in it. However is really immaterial when only a percentage are. Forget what the numbers are. Is seen by many as coming under law of the super powers. Whoever years ago would be voting on changing the regimes in foreign or alien countries and invading their sovereignty. This to those who think along those lines is an act of aggression and a declaration of war, and not there to save their bacon, anyhow the countries they invade don't eat bacon. As regards NATO considering it was formed in 1949 so shortly after the war says something of the politics of the time, as was considered a buffer against the Warsaw Pact countries of which Russia had been our ally shortly before. So the cry of Wolf was being uttered then, and over the years has grown and grown, of course there is going to be suspicions on both sides when all the political rhetoric for years has been printing words and pointing fingers. this all should have been sorted on their home ground not wait till the people have scattered all over Europe that has done more for the out voters than anything else?? jp
