Camera
Well last Week I went and bought a New Camera!
Its a Canon DSLR EOS EF-S 700D and when I got it ,came with an 18-55mm and 55-200 Canon Lenses!
After a week with that I decided to go back and exchange the Lens (I had 10 days to exchange without loosing any cash) so got a Tamron 18-270 mm all in one ,what a terrific Zoom it has!
So in place of carrying two Lenses around I now only have the one,and it saves changing Lenses all the time when out and about! This too can save dust etc getting in,as the one Lens just stays on!
Got a Lens Filter as well, also saving any dirt on the outer Lens.
I am well pleased with the Camera and so different from all my others I have, still got another three here! Eeeeek!
Camera buff! LOL
Not that I kno9w too much about them,i will now have to sit and read read raed, there is so much to learn now with this SLR a lot different to the Automatic ones !
To me its more fun anyway!
Cheers
Just to show you the fantastic Zoom here is an example!

Yes Marian
I am trying to go into a bit more serious Photography, dont know how I will go but I have always liked Cameras!
The place I bought it has free lessons on a Saturday with a professional Guy,so will be going there a few times.
Cost quite a bit too! (The Camera that is)
I also am going to get a Wide Angle Lens later for better shots of various places and things!
Cheers

Had the same Tamron for years and never let me down, go below 18 and you are getting into 'fish eye' territory, rarely found it useful, but always espensive.

And a captured Sunset through the Trees!
Its a start LOL

Re: Camera
My camera now has Black spots all over the photos.
all my photos of my trip have been ruined, I have been trying to edit them all week.
I borrowed the cabin stewards vacuum cleaner and tried to suck any dust out, I used the hot air Hair dryer to dry it out if it was condensation. but no change.
I have a photo of Vernon with a big black eye.
I guess I will have to buy a new one.
It is a LUMIX, Ideal for travelling, small light and has an incredible zoom on it. my card has 700 photos on it.
Cheers
Brian.

Re: Camera
What a bummer! That is so sad to hear Capt,as I know that you must have taken so many Photos of your long trip!
It isn't a good idea in the future (hope not) to use a Vacuum as that is way to strong for that sort of thing, you should only use a proper Camera Blower, only cost a few bob!
But think that you may as you say got a lot of condensation ,and it would have been better if you had just left it for a few days to dry out properly.
I do hope that in some way you can salvage most of them!
Don't worry about the one with the Black Eye! LOL

Re: Camera
When I was at school I was in the camera club and used to enjoy developing and printing black and white photos but on going to sea lost interest regretfully in photography (ale and women much more interesting).
I sailed with a 3rd engineer who was into photography in a big way and whenever we went ashore he always had his huge camera bag with him, though by the time he had selected the right lens for his Pentax SLR and fitted it, the shot had disappeared. Any photos I took was with a Kodak instamatic and once going around the Horn of Africa with wife on board, she came on the bridge to view the sunset and snapped the setting sun over a flat calm sea with said instamatic. I said that taking a photo directly into the setting sun would most likely turn out to be just a blur but when the film was developed it turned out to be the most perfect shot of the setting sun and slap bang in the middle of the shot she had captured a huge whale sounding!!!
Latterly I have been using a small digital camera that takes great photos but whatever I point the lens at all I seem to get on the photo is either pictures of my feet or the pavement I am standing on, looks like a trip to Specsavers is required!!!
